I'm quite certain it could not be soberly induced. Your conclusion is not shocking to me, but I am surprised to learn that many people are not faking these experiences. Glossolalia has always seemed like something people have to be faking. I'm surprised to read that most are not. However, I'm not surprised, in the least, that the explanation for Glossolalia and mystical experiences is not that there is a God. I sure hope anyone suffering from RTS or from the confusion as to why God has not revealed himself reads this and gains the comfort you received from researching and writing it.
